The project has received over USD 88 million in DOE funding for a CarbonSafe Phase III study, please see the attached DOE project. Initial assessments indicate that the Polk Carbon Storage Complex has the potential to store a minimum of 150 million metric tons of CO2 over a period of 30 years. The source of the CO2 is the Polk Power Station, which an operational 1,190-megawatt natural gas combined cycle power facility located in Mulberry, Florida.
