Tenaska is actively working on a carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiative known as the Tri-State CCS Buckeye project, aimed at serving emissions customers in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The plan involves capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from various facilities and transporting them to geologically secure underground storage locations within the Tri-State area. The project's primary focus is on Ohio, with consideration given to potential underground storage sites in Harrison, Jefferson, and Carroll counties. The initiative plans to utilize 12 wells/sites in Ohio for the storage component of the project.
