1PointFive and King Ranch in South Texas have joined forces to develop the South Texas DAC Hub, which offers access to 106,000 subsurface acres for Direct Air Capture (DAC) and sequestration. This hub has the potential to remove up to 30 million metric tonnes of CO₂ annually through DAC, with an estimated storage capacity of 3 billion metric tonnes. It boasts subsurface depths of over 10,000 feet, well monitoring, and significant CO₂ removal and storage capabilities, emphasizing its importance in addressing carbon capture and storage needs.
