NextDecade's Rio Grande LNG project in Brownsville, Texas, is under construction and will consist of the first three liquefaction trains. The project combines emissions reduction through carbon capture and storage, responsible gas sourcing, and the use of net-zero electricity to produce lower carbon-intensive LNG. When fully operational, Rio Grande LNG is expected to provide enough energy to heat and cool nearly 34 million U.S. households annually. Notably, it is the first and only U.S. LNG project aiming to achieve over 90% CO2 emissions reduction through carbon capture and storage, equivalent to removing more than one million vehicles from the road each year.
