LCEC Carbon Sequestration Site South

Class VI

Pro See the progress bar with key dates.

Air Products will develop the Louisiana Clean Energy Complex, a $4.5 billion clean hydrogen production facility near Burnside in Ascension Parish. The complex will produce over 750 million standard cubic feet per day of blue hydrogen, with about 95% of the carbon dioxide generated captured, compressed, and transported to inland sequestration sites located up to 35 miles to the east of the facility.

This Class VI site is the sequestration site for the Louisiana Clean Energy Complex. Over five million metric tons of carbon dioxide will be permanently sequestered in geologic pore space about a mile below ground, secured from the State of Louisiana.
