Denbury Orion was planned to span 75,000 acres with the potential to store more than 300 million metric tons of CO2. Annual injection was projected to be between 10 to 20 million metric tons. Denbury intended to link this site to their existing pipeline network, located approximately 90 miles away. However, in 2024, the company withdrew their Class VI application after the acquisition by ExxonMobil.
