The Magnolia Sequestration Hub aims to finalize site characterization, front-end engineering design studies, permitting, and environmental approvals necessary to prepare for construction. This project seeks to demonstrate both the technical and commercial viability of a large-scale carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration hub for the permanent storage of CO2 captured from industrial sources and potentially multiple direct air capture facilities. Progressing from its current stage to construction and commercial operation will facilitate the capture and sequestration of 4 million metric tons (Mt) of CO2 annually over a 15-year period, with the potential to expand to 10 million Mt per year or more from industrial sources and direct air capture facilities.
